Day 88 – Apostles sent
Study Luke 9:1-2
“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” Luke 9:1-2
Having spent a season of intimate learning with Jesus, the twelve disciples were no longer just followers; they were now commissioned. Jesus delegated a portion of His own ministry to them, but He never sent them out empty-handed. True to the unchanging principle of God’s work, whomever He calls, He faithfully equips. He gave them direct power and authority to cast out demons and cure diseases, reminding them that the proclamation of the Gospel and acts of supernatural compassion always go hand in hand.
Their message was simple yet earth-shattering: the King has arrived, His kingdom is breaking into the present, and a new community of grace is being gathered through repentance and faith. They used the available means of their day to spread this urgent news, stepping out in faith to bless others in the name of the Savior.
Pray with me: Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me into Your service and equipping me with Your grace. When You send me out, give me courage to proclaim Your kingdom and bring Your healing love to those around me. Amen. ©
