Day 7 – You find me
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” Psalm 139:7 NLT
Very much like Adam and Eve I had my fair share trying to flee from the Lord. Thinking I can hide my guilt and shame caused by my sin (and not done through disobedience). Since the moment sin entered this world, it is our nature to try and hide from God’s presence as the first man and woman did. This human behaviour has not changed, we do it today still, don’t we?
Verse seven is a reminder to me that there is no place on this earth where I can out-flee or out-hide God. It does not matter where I am (on the road, in the kitchen, or at work) I always have the opportunity to turn to Him and say, “Father, I am sinful. Please forgive me.” When Jesus came to lay down His life for our sins, he broke the barrier so we could repent because of His precious blood. We received the Holy Spirit who gently guides us with discernment to know the difference between sinning and following God’s will.
Beloved, I know full well that fleeing or hiding will bring you full circle to God’s presence. Face your shame and guilt caused by sin and ask for forgiveness. God is a loving Father waiting for you with open arms and eager to walk with You in His garden.
Let’s pray: Father, I know that I would never be able to hide or flee from You and that my guilt and shame keep me away from walking with You and spending time with You. Thank You that I can turn to you anytime and anywhere and ask for forgiveness. Lord, thank You for being a loving Father doting grace, mercy, and love on me in abundance. I love You for loving me. Amen.
