Listen – Day 5

None other

“You shall have no other gods before me” Exodus 20:3

The idols in our lives aren’t big bronze statues of Baal or something the great Sphinx in the Giza plateau of Egypt. Our idols became things like our cell phones, our series binge, our busy lives and even the lives of others. There are no slave drivers slashing whips at us to bow down to them either, we do it out of our free will. Our own choices win the first prize before time spend with God.

Complying with this Godly Command, we choose God first. Spending time with Him and getting to know His voice, the specific way He communicates with us. Our choice in putting God first, allows us listening as a sign of love and respect towards our Heavenly Father.

Prayer: Father, please forgive me the times I have broken this commandment. Knowing and unknowingly. The times I’ve chosen to spend my free spiritual time doing something else instead of getting to know Your voice. Thank You for Your love and Your forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Amen. ©
