Day 6 – Ashdod

“These are the nations: the Philistines (those living under the five Philistine rulers), all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and Hivites living in the mountains of Lebanon from Mount Baal-hermon to Lebo-hamath.” Judges 3:3 NLT
Ashdod was the third ruling party in the Philistine reign – meaning inclination, diffusion, and theft. Our natural inclination is to sin because of our physical birth into this world. The enemy knows this full well and uses the strategy of diffusion (the action of spreading something more widely). In practice, here is how it works: the enemy brings a lie to you, just like he did with Eve. The moment you believe the lie, it diffuses through your mind and heart justifying the sin brought by the lie. And the theft? This strategy steals away your relationship with God by moving you deeper into the deception and away from God’s love –and ultimately stealing your soul.
Jesus exploited this strategy when He said: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundant” John 10:10 (NKJV) In the later part of the verse, Jesus also gives a strategy to us. Because of who He is and what He has done for us, He is our life. When we abide in Him we experience life. Abundantly! Living in the abundance of Jesus, we easily spot the inclination and diffusion of the enemy’s strategy and exploit it just like Jesus did.
Prayer: Father, we believe Jesus is our life – He is in us and we are in Him. Thank You for Jesus and that through Him, we have life in abundance. May I draw closer and closer to Jesus to spot this strategy of Ashdod. Amen.
