Breath – Day 3

Breath of life

“I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 37:6 NLT

From dust, God created humans. Can you imagine the angels all gathering around to look in awe at the image God created? There was Adam. The image of God. Beautifully crafted. But something was missing. This image was lifeless. It lacked something that would reflect God’s glory to Him. So, God breathed the breath of life into his nostrils and in obedience to God’s will, the matter became the framework of spirit, and man became a living soul.

God prepares us in our mother’s womb before He gives us His breath. It is a carefully designed plan by the Master Designer to make sure you are perfect in His image. At the ideal moment, closely calculated to the very second of your birth, He gives you, His breath. Your number one life-giving substance. Breath you praise Him with. And breath to know that He is Lord!

Inhale deeply. As you do, think about God’s breath and His Word. Take it deep into your lungs and soul to enliven your body and revive your soul. Today, just breathe…

Prayer: Father, breathing is such an instinct that we do it automatically without realising every breath comes from You. Thank You for creating me in your image and for giving me breath so I can live. Your breath is my life… Amen.
