Day 13 – Star of Bethlehem

Star of Bethlehem

Matthew 2:10 “When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.”

This star that rose when Jesus was born, was not just any star, it shone high and bright.  Everyone could see it.  It led the wise men to Jesus.

God gave us His Son, Jesus Christ to give us light.  Jesus takes us out of the darkness.  In the light, we are happy because we can see everything.  We feel at ease.  In Jesus nothing is hidden.  We can hide a lot of things from others.  We can do things in secret thinking no one sees us.  And that might be true.  But before Jesus, there is nothing hidden, all is bare. He knows us inside and out.  Because of His light, it offers protection to us also.  Jesus reveals things to us when we ask Him.  He does not want us to trip or fall over.  His Word is a lamp unto our feet.

PRAYER:  Abba Father, thank you that you gave us Jesus, that shines brighter than any star, Jesus that brings light to our lives.  Thank you that we do not need to wander around in the darkness.  Your light shines through it all.  Praise your Holy Name, Amen.
