Day 6 – Inhale… Exhale…
“𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦” 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴2:7
There is no magic formula to listen to God. No 𝘵𝘦𝘯-𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯 or 𝘛𝘰 𝘋𝘰 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 to follow. Because it’s all based on your relationship with our Father. But today I would like to share a simple breathing technique that can assist you in focusing your thoughts on God. This helps to quiet the turmoil in your mind and to become 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 in His presence. This is not any new age mumbo-jumbo. It’s an exercise to enter into a stillness and shift your focus from the constant noise of this world to the presence of God.
So, first, take a deep breath. Hold it. And exhale. Repeat. Slow everything down in your mind and trust that with each breath, God is there. Waiting for you. Concentrate on the sound of your breath – the air pushing through, your chest rising and falling, and as you inhale, think about God. Breathing Him in, because His breath is already in your nostrils. Part of your DNA. Imagine the sound of your breathing reacting to your creator as a thanksgiving for your life.
Your soul needs God more than your body needs air. Listening to Him is what will sustain you.
Pray with me: Father, as I slowly breathe in, I want to breathe You in deeply. I want to hear Your voice resonate in my soul. Thank You for Your breath that gave me life and that my soul can connect with You. Amen. ©
