Day 7 – No authentic connection with the Holy Spirit

“The spirit (conscience) of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching and examining all the innermost parts of his being.” Proverbs 20:27
I remember one of the first things being taught when coming to Christ, was that Satan’s downfall began with rebellion. It was his wilfulness packaged in selfishness and unwillingness to submit that cost him his life in paradise and condemned him to an eternity outside the presence of God. We stand before the same temptation when we withstand the prompting of the Holy Spirit, rejecting His input and choosing to follow our own insights, instead of those of the One Who knows the end from the beginning. But looking more closely, we will see that it is actually fear of the bringing to light of our weaknesses and faults and being condemned for them that keeps us from acknowledging the Holy Spirit’s voice and once we accept that the Lord’s love is not like our love and that His love is not based on our performance but on His sovereign will, we will walk into the freedom that we were called to and connect with heaven…
Prayer: Unsearchable God, so long we were under the false impression that You were the overlord and we the weak underlings, but no more, for we are Your children, loved and wanted and being taught and trained to live the lives of subjects of the royal priesthood that we are called to under the jurisdiction of the heavenly kingdom which is our true home. As we surrender our will to Yours, Lord, may we find the freedom that comes from being truly loved and the power of fearlessness as we welcome Your teaching and transformation. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
