Day 8 – Gentleness
Today, our King is still known for the miraculous way he stoops down and lives in gentleness toward all mankind.
He loves to be near those who, love him, those who have a humble and contrite heart. He didn’t enter the world with fanfare but with quiet significance. Religious actions and words that seem holy but carry no power have never impressed Him. Like Jesus, let’s live in humility but pour it out with redemptive power.
What does it mean to be gentle? Gentleness is similar to kindness, but it involves cultivating a softness of heart toward other people. Gentleness is being kind, tender, and caring. A gentle person will achieve more in difficult situations than someone unstable, panicky, or angry. Being cool, calm, and collected will always trump hot-headedness.
“Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, and easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.” Matthew 11:29 TPT
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for the way you clothed yourself in humility and gentleness, yet wrap me in your righteousness and treat me like royalty. Help me to represent you well—to live with compassion and humility yet confidently release the glory of the One who lives inside me. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
