At first, like most married women, I did not completely understand the role of a helper or what it meant to be a helper to my husband. I thought it was about pointing out the obvious. You know, reminding him when the traffic light turned green or correcting him when it turned red. Sometimes it meant doing household chores, which often led to frustration for my husband. Deep down, I believed I had my own identity, but I carried the misconception that being a helper meant my husband was the ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ด๐ด and I was to obey every command.
Over time, God convicted me of neglecting the true essence of my role. I began seeking a deeper understanding of what this calling genuinely entails. A Godly understanding. Genesis 2:18 reminds us that God Himself declared it was not good for man to be alone, and He created a helper suitable for him. This means my role is not accidental. It is divinely appointed.
Prayer: Father, open my heart to understand the true meaning of being a helper. Remove misconceptions and teach me to see this calling as a gift, not a burden. Help me embrace my role with humility and joy, knowing You designed me for partnership. Amen. ยฉ
