Day 120 – Sent as lambs
Study Luke 10:4-8
“Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.” Luke 10:4
Jesus not only told the seventy where to go; He also showed them how to go. They were not to be distracted by possessions, financial concerns, or lengthy social customs. Their focus was to remain firmly on the mission He had given them.
These instructions were designed to teach dependence. The disciples were being sent out with very little, forcing them to trust in God’s provision rather than their own resources. They would discover that when God sends His people, He is faithful to care for them.
Jesus also instructed them to bring peace wherever they went. Their presence was to be a blessing, not a burden. They were to accept hospitality gratefully, remain in the home that welcomed them, and avoid constantly seeking better accommodations. Such contentment would demonstrate trust in God and sincerity in their ministry.
How often do we delay obedience because we feel unprepared? We think we need more resources, more confidence, or better circumstances. Yet God frequently calls us to move forward in faith before we feel fully ready. He wants us to learn that our security is found not in what we possess, but in the One who sends us.
The Christian life is a daily invitation to trust God’s provision. He may not always reveal the entire path ahead, but He will provide what we need for each step.
Pray with me: Father, help me trust You more than I trust my own plans and resources. Teach me to walk by faith, knowing that You will faithfully provide all I need. Amen. ©
Love, Iriza
