Our modern civilisation does not include a dedicated prayer room in our homes. And as much as I want to chuck all my clothes out of my closet, as Elizabeth did in the movie ๐๐ข๐ณ ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฎ, the space is so small and cramped that I would irritate myself instead of concentrating on praying.
Whether you have a little nook in your house (or garden), you need a place where you can pray and listen. A place where His voice becomes familiar, where you discover how He speaks to you as you focus on listening for Him instead of just hearing. A place where He draws you deeper, where His Word comes alive, and His voice is clear. The Bible is not called the Word of God by accident. It is His very words that shape the pages we read, treasure, and soak into our lives.
This place doesnโt have to be grand or special in the worldโs eyes. It can be your bed, your study, the garden, or your favourite chair in the living room. What matters is that itโs a space where you connect with Him. If you donโt have such a place yet, take time today to create one. Surround it with scripture, images, or reminders of Godโs presence. Keep a notebook nearby to capture what He teaches you or what you hear Him say.
Get ready to listen, lovely one, because He is already speaking.
Prayer: Father, I want to find a special place we can call our own. A God place where I can give all my attention to what you are showing, teaching, and telling me. A place where I can develop a listening lifestyle without any interruptions. I ask for Your guidance to show me a suitable place. Amen. ยฉ
