Day 8 – Hard-working farmer
Hard-working farmer
“[It is] the hard-working farmer [who labors to produce] who must be the first partaker of the fruits.” 2 Timothy 2:6 (AMPC)
We too are farmers that work towards our harvest of divine purpose and overflow and we can learn much from the excellent example of timing, hard work, and harvesting. We will be looking closely at the six basic steps of farming and learn how to apply them to our lives: Soil preparation; Sowing: Irrigation; Germination; Product (Fruit) and Harvesting.
What did Jesus say about a farmer? “But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.” Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.” Matthew 13:24-25
Winter seasons form an important part of our harvest and I do believe that’s the reason why it’s the season that requires a lot of hard work and patience. Without hard work and patience, our winter seasons will seem like forever. As mentioned before, being a child of God does not exclude us from difficult, challenging times but it enables us to stay focused on God’s plan and purpose for us and to trust in Him only as we endure and allow the work to be done in and through us!
“The Lord will open for you His good treasure house, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow.” Deuteronomy 28:12 (AMP)
Prayer: Father God You have a divine purpose for each one of us and I ask today that You will open every heart today, prepare them for the work to be done in their winter season, in order to produce their harvest. Amen.
