Day 21 – Fearing the Lord

“Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.” Psalm 112:1

Children can develop the strangest fears overnight. From the dark to the plug being pulled out of the bathtub. We coax and teach them not to be afraid with logic – trying to steer them away from the emotions causing fear. But there is one fear we should teach with more vigor than anything else…

A fear they should understand and carry with them their entire lives… The fear of the Lord. Understanding and following the commands because they choose to do so is a healthy fear of the Lord which our Father delights greatly.

My prayer is that our children will be blessed because of their fear of the Lord whilst they delight greatly in his commandments. May they not only love His Word but obey it to the best of their ability. May God be praised by our children and their love-fear of Him.

Prayer: Father, all praise and glory to You, my Lord! May our children be blessed because of their fear of You and may they delight in Your commands. Guide us to teach them that a fear of You is not the same as fear of things in this world. Amen.
