Day 10 – Virtues

“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” Ephesians 2:4-5

From “The Seven Deadly Sins” it is clear to see how easily our desires lead to breaking God’s commandments. One sin is closely followed by the others leaving you exactly where the Word says: dead because of our sins. Yes, the Word of God is black and white, right and wrong, good and bad. Whilst studying these, I found a golden thread binding it all together in love: Jesus. There is no sin you cannot be forgiven for and no sin you cannot overcome through Him.

Knowing Jesus and growing in your relationship with God through the Seven Virtues outweighs the sins a thousand times over. In the next few days, we will study these as per the doctrine study of Pope Gregory.

Prayer: Father, thank You for giving us Your only Son Jesus Christ, who through His sacrifice for our salvation opened the graceful door of forgiveness and overcoming all desire and sin. Thank You, Lord, for loving us so much. Amen.
