Day 11 – You redeem me

“If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me;” Psalm 139:11 NKJV

Whilst trekking through the wilderness, Israel was in constant light. “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.” Exodus 13:21 NKJV. As His chosen nation, He chose to keep them in the light that even in the dark of night, there was light around them.

Jesus, the Light of the world, came so that we who choose Him, will always be in His Light, even when it feels like darkness falls on us. He came so we can be redeemed from the darkness of our sins. We have no need to be afraid of this darkness because we walk in the light of liberty and freedom due to the eternal victory secured by our Redeemer.

Let’s pray: Father, thank You that when You said “Let there be light” it was not just a visible light, but the Light of the world so that we are freed from the darkness of our sin. Jesus, thank You for redeeming me so that I can live in the Light that is You. Amen.
