Day 14 – The prayer of faith
Mark 11:24 “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will get it.”
As we saw in the previous devotionals, the attitude of the heart is crucial when we enter into prayer. Without faith, prayer is a pointless exercise. Jesus tells us here that we should believe, trust and be confident that we have that which we ask for. We always first receive the breakthrough in the spiritual realm before it manifests in the natural. That is why we should be careful what we say when we believe God for our breakthrough.
When we ask God for something, our words should align with God’s Word. Are you trusting God for financial provision or specific guidance in a matter? Ask God, and then instead of declaring that you didn’t receive anything, rather confess out loud: “Lord, I thank You that my needs are met in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)”, or “Thank You that You promise that I have the mind of Christ and that You will give me the wisdom that I need (James 1:5).”
Let us be confident and believe that we have received that which we are believing God for!
Prayer: Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, You are faithful and powerful and unchanging! Thank you that I can confidently trust You to not only hear my prayer but to answer me when I call on Your name. Whatever my need is today, I trust that You have the provision. Amen.
