Day 13 – Passing by

“He intended to go past them,” Mark 6:48b

Mark’s account he mentions that Jesus intended to pass them. Why? Why would Jesus allow his beloved apostles to struggle or to perish? Why would He allow you to struggle or perish? Was it to teach them a lesson for not having faith like the first time? We don’t serve a God like that!

Think about Moses. When he asked God to show him His face, God said that He would pass by Moses so he could catch a glimpse of YAHWEH. Jesus intended to reveal Himself so that they would know He was with them. They only needed to call on His name.

Can you remember the way Jesus revealed Himself to you through the storms you have already survived? He will do so every time!

Prayer: Father, You reveal Your presence in our situations through miracles! Please forgive us for the times we do not see it as such. Thank You that we can have the assurance of You never passing us but revealing Yourself amid the storm. Amen.
