Our struggle is not against flesh and blood. The battles we experience often manifest through people, circumstances, and systems – but their root is spiritual. Without armour, we fight the wrong enemy with the wrong weapons. Are you fighting a person when the battle is actually spiritual?
I have been confronted with this matter many times, where the Holy Spirit reminded me that I am not fighting against people. Sometimes, when people anger us or when they disappoint or offend us, we forget that that is not where our battles lie. We get caught up in everyday battles and forget that our battle is not against people around us. I had to teach myself to βchoose my battlesβ and only fight the ones that will have eternal value. Remind yourself today to fight the spiritual battles that matter, and leave the small battles behind.
Prayer: Jesus, I often forget what battles I am supposed to fight with the armour you provided me with. Please help me to fight the correct battles with the correct armour. I donβt want to focus on the wrong battle, like one against people. I want to fight the battles of the spirit, where it matters. Amen.
