Day 13 – Spiritual mentoring: Jesus led by example
As Christians, we have the best example of a mentor – Jesus Christ. He handpicked His disciples and mentored them by being the example they needed. When we accept Jesus as our leader (Mentor), we follow and learn from Him. Spiritual mentoring is a process dependent upon submission to Christ. Neither the mentor nor the mentee controls the relationship but relies on the Holy Spirit to provide insight, change, and teachings through the mentoring process.
At the ascension, Jesus did not leave the disciples (which he taught for approximately 3 years) orphaned and alone. John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring you to remembrance all the things I said to you.” Jesus’ focus was on the Kingdom of Heaven, and He knew that “spiritual mentoring” is a continuous process. The Holy Spirit teaches and guides believers in the truth of the Word of God.
The Titus 2 Women’s Discipleship manual was created with a disciple-making goal and is intended for Christian women to develop in their ministry. This initiative is designed to help you discover your role in the body of Christ by guiding you to find your calling or ministry. We aim to nurture your growth as a Christian, teach you spiritual disciplines, and show you how to apply them and handle situations consistent with Christ’s teachings. We also seek to mentor you to achieve spiritual maturity, giving you the confidence to realise your full potential.
Prayer: Our Father in heaven who delicate and precise is Your plan for our lives. Guide us to be paired into mentoring relationships that grow Your Kingdom. Let the Holy Spirit guide our steps and lead us according to Your will. Amen.
