Day 1 – The Source

‘Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” James 1:17 NLT

The concept of blessing in our modern times has been diluted to financial and material well-being through the teaching of doctrines that do not cover the extent of the true meaning of blessings or even how they come or why. But the Source of blessings is more important than the blessings itself. Without the Source, there are no blessings.

God’s intention and the meaning of the types of blessings found in Scripture covers a wide range allowing all of us to become blessed in the things of God. Though there are multiple verses to recite holding the jewels of a blessing, all are designed by God as a good and perfect gift coming from His heart of love for His children.

Prayer: Father, thank You for being the unending source of blessing in our lives and that the gift of blessing is a good and perfect gift coming down to us. You are such a loving Father who created us in Your image to reflect the blessings and glory of Your Name. I pray that during this devotional You will bless our hearts and minds with understanding to comprehend the different blessings we will learn about. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
