Day 13 – You made me
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb” Psalm 139:13 NLT
We all have this “issue” about ourselves robbing us of confidence: insecurities! As a younger girl, I did not like my freckles. I was teased because of them and everything in me just wanted a clear, glowing skin like my friends. I had every foundation on the market in my make-up treasury trying to plaster the freckles away. This insecurity caused a lack of confidence not to talk in groups or start my day with a good lacquer of foundation so that whomever I met during the day would not see the spots on my face.
If you asked any woman today what she is insecure about her body, you’d receive a list longer than your arm. The enemy sows seeds of insecurities to rob you of the security of who you are in Christ and blemishes your view on the image of Your creator.
Today’s verse peeled the lies from my soul to understand that God created me with these freckles (and everything else). He created me with all my physical “flaws” as He knit me together molecule by molecule. And to the world, it may not be a normal standard, but to God, it is beautiful and perfect, and He loves me. Freckles and all.
Let’s pray: Father, thank You for creating me just the way I am and for loving me just the way I am. Today I want to bring all the insecurities of my physical nature to Your thrown and ask You to help me see myself through Your eyes. Show me that my insecurities are actually my strengths and that no matter what the enemy says, I am perfect in Your eyes. Amen.
