Day 16 – I am A GOOD STEWARD

“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” – 1 Corinthians 4:2

I was inspired by the teaching of John Bevere’s X: Multiply Your God-Given Potential, when selecting the topic for this devotional.  He used Matthew 25:14-30 for this teaching.

As we celebrate Women’s Month, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the unique roles and responsibilities we carry just as God called us.

1. Steward of Time: In a world filled with endless to-do lists and commitments, it’s essential to remember that every moment is a gift from God. Especially now when it feels like time is running out and against you. I am one of those who struggle with this as most of the time it feels like I am strung along, especially being a mother.

2. Steward of Talents: Each of us is uniquely gifted. Whether in the workplace, at home, or in ministry, our talents are meant to glorify God and serve others.

3. Steward of Resources: This includes our finances, possessions, and the environment around us. How we manage this, must be to glorify God and do His will.

4. Steward of Relationships: Relationships are among the most precious and important gifts we are entrusted with. Nurturing our connections with family, friends, and community reflects God’s love. Especially in this day and age where it is seems we are here today and gone tomorrow.  Ephesians 4:2-3 calls us to “be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

As women called to be good stewards, let us embrace our God-given roles with faithfulness and dedication. May we continually seek His wisdom in managing the various aspects of our lives, always striving to honor Him in all we do. Let’s celebrate our stewardship journey, knowing that we are fulfilling a divine purpose.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for entrusting us with the gifts, time, talents, and relationships in our lives. Help us to be faithful stewards, always seeking Your guidance and wisdom. May our actions reflect Your love and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love, Ina Viljoen
