Day 18 – Words Attract: Wise Words
“The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; the wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.” Proverbs 18:4
From all the lessons I’ve heard and accumulated in my life, the ones I value the most, are the ones taught to me by people who I believe are flowing brooks of wisdom. People who I consider to be God appointed, spiritual mentors in my life. When I’m asked what I want to achieve when I’m older, I fondly think of them and answer: “I want to be wise like my mentors”. I want to teach people from the wisdom God imparted to me. Speaking words of wisdom is to bring the truth of the Gospel to thirsty hearts.
It’s good to have a spiritual mentor – someone to teach you the wisdom they’ve learned and the experience they accumulated through the years. If you do not have someone like that, ask God to send you someone.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the spiritual mentors You have chosen to teach me wisdom from the wellspring of their hearts. Today I bring them before You and ask that You would bless them with deeper wisdom and the knowledge to put it into words to teach those hungry for the Truth. Amen.
