The only things you need to accomplish during Sabbath are rest and worship. Give yourself permission to step back from the other things to thoroughly enjoy Godโs gift of rest and to spend quality time with Him. I am sharing some ideas how you can spend your time in Biblically permissible ways. Familiarize yourself with Scriptureโs directions for the Sabbath. I normally ask myself,

My Saturday mornings begin with gathering alongside my prayer group to study Scripture and lift our hearts in prayer. Only recently did I realize how deeply this rhythm has shaped my days. Since exploring the meaning of the Sabbath, Iโve noticed how these practices guide the way I spend my time in honoring it. Some rest days find me immersed in reading, while others are devoted to listening to teachings. One of my greatest joys is lying beneath the wide canopy of our big tree, resting in its magnificent shade as I read or listen, letting the peace of the Sabbath settle over me.
Prayer: Father, thank You for adding rest to Your glorious architectural design of creation and for creating these moments where I can just be with You and honouring You. Please help me to discern what I can and cannot do on the Sabbath. Amen.
