Day 3 – A call to respond

Proverbs 1:23 “If you will turn (repent) and give heed to my reproof, behold, I [Wisdom] will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make my words known to you.”
Are you perhaps at a place in your life where you feel lost? To make the right decisions without knowing the future is not easy. We need wisdom. If the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, then surely we need to find the Lord first. But sin complicates things. Any wilful, ongoing sin in one’s life causes guilt, which turns into shame. It causes one to want to hide from God instead of turning to God. The enemy uses guilt to blind us to God’s everlasting grace.
But Jesus already took care of that shame. He has offered a solution for us to be free. All we need to do is accept it. In today’s verse, Jesus (Who is Wisdom in Person) pleads with each one of us to turn from the path of foolishness: the habitual wrong decision-making, stubbornness, excluding God from your everyday matters. He asks us to repent from our sin and to take hold of the treasures of Wisdom found in the Word. The blessing that follows that action is this: we will be filled with wisdom and God will speak to us. He will share in our decision-making.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before Your throne of grace today and I bring all my issues to the table. Nothing is hidden from You, but You require that I repent of my sin and turn away from them. Please forgive me for the times that I have acted without consulting with You first and please help me to include You in every decision I need to make today. Amen.
