Day 3 – My will to His will

“He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake.” Psalm 23:3 (NKJV)

Soul restoration brings you in line with God’s will. His guidance will never take you down a road of sin and He will never embarrass you when you follow His path. Following where He leads means to forgo the paths paved by the world. Surrendering your will does not mean giving up your dreams and goals, but rather submission to God align them with His will.

Stress is the traveling companion we choose when we stubbornly walk in our will. We want to see the picture complete or receive a step-by-step guide from God before we even start on the path He gave us. I wonder how many miraculous provisions we miss because we want to know steps two, three, and four even before we have completed step one. We are faster to ask Google rather than God. James 1:5 says to ask our generous God when we need wisdom.

The righteous path is not an easy path to walk; guidance through faith, prayer, patience, and repentance is needed to glorify Him along the way. Surrender your will. Submit in obedience and follow God. Walking where He leads is a lot easier than trying to figure out what your next step will be.

Prayer: Father, we are a rebellious, stubborn generation so used to getting what we want. Today I ask forgiveness for the times I decided to walk to the beat of my own drum instead of following Your lead. My paths lead to situations that stung like thorns. Your Word is a lamp and Your paths are righteous. Thank You, Father, that even in our walk, we are not alone. Where You lead, I will follow. Amen.
