Day 3 – PEACE

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

In the dictionary, one of the descriptions of peace is this: freedom from disturbance, to have tranquility. I heard something so profound the other day, “truth is spoken softly, but lies are loud”. These words impacted me profoundly. How many of us live in disturbance because it’s easier to hear and believe the lies of the devil than to hear softly the truth of God?

When we choose to hear the soft-spoken words of God, that are true, we find true peace. Our hearts are calm, our minds are quiet and settled. There is no room for turbulence.

Turbulence causes fear, uncertainty, and lack of understanding and brings about irrational behaviour. God offers us peace that is beyond any human understanding. Peace that prompts us to be still and let go and let God do what He needs to do in our lives. God always offers a way. There is never an entrapment of any kind.

But freedom of joy that comes from knowing God and experiencing His peace. Don’t try alternatives to God’s peace.

Prayer: Jesus, our prince of peace, draw us close to you because in you we are safe from the disturbance and the turbulence. In you, there is tranquility beyond any understanding. In you we have a safe harbour, in Jesus Name I ask, Amen.
