Day 5 – Exalt the Humble

Hannah prayed: “The bow of the mighty is now broken, and those who stumbled are now strong.” 1 Samuel 2:4 NLT

Mary prayed: “He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble.” Luke 1:52 NLT

Long before Peter wrote the very familiar verse in 1 Peter 5:6-7, our ladies already knew the importance of humbleness. Being humble is not only a foundation for a life of prayer but a way of life. The humility we practice in prayer in the presence of our Father should reflect in how we conduct ourselves and how we treat others. Every act of humility is a reflection of a sustained prayer discipline. And the reward for humbleness is exaltation from our Father.

By practicing humility in our prayer life, we show submission to God and will obediently act on His Word. This will reflect in your life because the more time we spend with God, understanding humility, the more exalted you will be. We’re not talking about abundant earthly wealth and stance but exalted as a true, faithful, and God-fearing child of the living King.

Prayer: Father, today I humble myself in prayer before You, our All Mighty One. Your ways surpass our understanding and I want to walk humbly in Your will. Guide me today to act humbly in situations where the opposite is expected. Thank You for the promise of exaltation. Amen.
