Day 5 – Flight plan

“And he said to them, ‘As you go into all the world, preach openly the wonderful news of the gospel to the entire human race!’ Mark 16:15 TPT

Some of us aren’t aware that we even have wings! We’re comfortable snoozing in our crusty old caterpillar shroud. We’re not spreading our wings and soaring in the sunlight. Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, this was His command to those who watched Him rise, “As you go into ALL the world…” Our complete metamorphosis from the “old me” and old ways of thinking to the “new me” in Christ with a Christ-mindedness was never intended to stay in a chrysalis. We are to spread our proverbial wings and fly into ALL the world and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to all we can find.

Just as those thousands of little white butterflies captivated my curiosity as they flew in one direction over the green fields, we should know where we are heading – following the voice of the Holy Spirit. Ready to teach, preach, and transform. Where would your journey take you? I wonder…

Prayer: Beautiful Creator, it is with great adoration we can follow the metamorphic lifecycle of butterflies and understand that we, through our spiritual journey, are also transformed from who we once were to an entirely new person in Christ. May we take this command of Jesus to heart as we go into the world and through obedience preach the wonderful news of the gospel. Lord, even if I reach just one person, I know it was my flight plan to reach that one and I know it would be another butterfly transformed by Your grace and glory. Amen.
