Day 6 – Bless the Lord

“Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul,” Psalm 103:22 NKJV
Everything created, you and I too, have been created for the blessing and glory of God through His Son, Jesus Christ as mentioned in Colossians 1:16 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.” The purpose of God’s blessings toward us is for His Glory. Does that make God selfish? No, it makes Him God. If the result is not to bring Him glory, who is it for then?
When we create or make something, we always express ourselves in what we do and find joy in what we have accomplished. Likewise, God as our Creator, creates for His own self and blesses it for His glory. This is the reason why we bless God. Our souls are designed to, by default, worship something and when worship is directed to God, our souls bless Him in return for the blessings He gave us – I like to call this heaven’s currency. It is delightful to Him to see His creation bless Him willingly in recognition that He is God, and we are His creation.
Prayer: Father, with love and adoration we worship you today and bless Your Holy Name as our creator and that we were created for Your glory and that the blessings thereof can manifest in our lives through Jesus. You are such a loving God and bless us richly with more than we deserve. Thank You for being You and my soul blesses and worships You. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
