Day 6 – Gardens: Spiritual growth through Paradise

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7 NKJV
These past few days we took a walk through three of the gardens mentioned in the Bible. Starting with Eden and the sin fall, seeking God’s will in Gethsemane, and through Golgotha in victory. Today we visit the Garden of Eternal life. This verse specifically mentions “he who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says…” Implicitly meaning we should listen with our hearts tuned into the Spirit – which is the only way we gain wisdom and understanding to move through these gardens to reach our destination in Paradise.
The word “paradise” also means the garden of delight. Here is the garden where there are no more tears, pain, sickness, suffering, or sin. We will be free to exist in the marvellous glory, peace, and love of God our Father, the Gardener.
Through Jesus, the curse of sin is forgiven, and those who accept Him as their Saviour will enter Paradise as legal citizens of Heaven. “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3:20 NKJV. Do we, as disciples and ministers of the Lord direct others to the destination of Heaven by hearing what the Spirit says?
Prayer: Father, the Bible is so rich with Your Word, symbolism, and allegories that it speaks directly to the hearts of those who intend to hear. Who leans into You and yearns to walk with You in Paradise whilst eagerly waiting for our Groom, the Lord Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, sow within us a hunger to explore the depths of what the gardens mean and give us the words and divine opportunities to share it with others guiding them towards Paradise. Thank You that these gardens are directions to Your loving embrace. Amen.
