Day 11 – Breakthrough in prayer

1 Samuel 1:17 “Go in peace and may the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.”

Samuel, the mighty prophet of God, was instrumental in appointing David as king over Israel. The Messiah was born out of David’s bloodline. But Samuel was a miracle baby! He was received in faith by Hannah, who had been barren for many years. Hannah prayed that God would give her a child. The priest, Eli, spoke prophetically that God would grant her request.

When we pray, it should be in faith that we have received what we cannot see yet. After Hannah prayed, she acted in faith. “She went her way and ate, her countenance no longer sad.” Why wasn’t she sad anymore? She wasn’t pregnant yet, but she applied faith to her prayer and received her child by faith.

“Sing! Oh barren one, you who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child! For the [spiritual] children of the desolate one will be more than the children of the married wife.” (Isaiah 54:1)

Hannah fell pregnant and Samuel was born. Dear friend, don’t give up if you don’t see your prayer answered immediately! Receive your answer by faith and act as if you have it – speak words of faith, not doubt.

Prayer: Faithful Father, what wonderful testimonies are in Your Word of people who prayed and received their miracles by faith. Thank you that Your promises are still true for us today. I receive my breakthrough, Lord, although I cannot see it yet. Thank you that You hear my prayer and that You answer me according to Your divine plan for my life. I trust You. Amen.
