Day 7 – Yes, I am weak

“That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10

It is true that no one ever wants to admit to being weak. I know I didn’t, especially when I sat on that grey carpet being very hard on myself. But this lesson taught me it is good to identify your weaknesses and to ask Jesus to be your strength and your savior while you are working on them and turning them into strengths. No wonder Paul said he delights in his weaknesses. See, in our weakness, our savior, Jesus Christ, is highlighted as our strength. He is the victor in whose footsteps, we can confidently follow. Weakness should not be seen as defeat – but rather as a growth point excelling you forward into the goodness and grace of God whilst overcoming life’s obstacles.

Moses wrote this song: “The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him – my father’s God, and I will exalt him!” Exodus 15:2. Whilst identifying and overcoming your weaknesses, take them on with the knowledge that the Lord is your strength and song and he has given you the victory.

A weak woman thinks she can take on the world, but a daughter of the King recognizes she is weak and needs a savior.

Prayer: Father, thank You that we know that in our weaknesses, You are strong. You are our strength and song and have already given us the victory through our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You, Jesus, that You are strong for me in my moments of weakness and for guiding and teaching me to walk in your victorious steps to overcome. Through You, Jesus, I am strong. Amen.
