Day 8 – Prayers for the family room

“If possible, and to the extent that it depends on you, live in peace with all people.” Romans 12:18 CJB

Maybe it’s just my family, but the young adults in our home preferred to keep company in their rooms with electronic devices. Though we grant them their own time, we still felt it was important to spend time as a family. Between our work schedules (and their social calendars) we chose one weekend as family weekend. No meetings, obligations, or social engagement and instead watch movies or play games. Someone once said, “when you get to know your family, they are actually nice people”. Spending time strengthens bonds and promotes peace within the family.

Pray for the family room

Father, thank You for this space where my family can spend valuable time. Thank You for the entertainment and fellowship. Please help us to live at peace with each other – to be patient, humble, gentle, kind, and to forgive each other when needed. May we carry this peace towards all people we meet. Help us to choose our entertainment wisely and to discern which voices build us up and which tear us down. Keep us from temptation and protect us from all evil. May our hearts and minds be filled with Your peace and love, and may we learn to direct our footsteps according to Your word. Amen.

Love, Pastor Iriza
