Day 84 – Daughter

Study Luke 8:45-48

And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” Luke 8:48

When Jesus stopped and asked, “Who touched Me?” the disciples were bewildered, pointing out the multitude of people pressing against Him from every side. But Jesus knew the difference between a casual bump in a crowd and a deliberate, resolute reach of faith. Feeling power goes out from Him, He looked straight at the trembling woman.

She came forward and fell down, declaring in the presence of all why she had touched Him and how she was instantly healed. Jesus did not call her out to humiliate her, but to bless her. He wanted her to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was healed, to show the crowd her restoration, and to gently correct her thinking so she knew it was her faith in Him – not superstition – that brought salvation.

Then, He gave her a gift she had likely not heard in years: the tender name, 𝘋𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳. Jesus never called anyone else by this intimate title. He lifted her out of the shadows, erased her isolation, and sent her away with a lasting promise of wholeness and peace.

Pray with me: Lord Jesus, thank You for seeing me even when I try to hide in the crowd. Thank You for calling me close, removing my shame, and filling my soul with Your enduring peace. Amen. ©
