Day 138 – Ecclesiastes: Solomon’s general observations
“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT
Reading Ecclesiastes 3:1 to Ecclesiastes 5:20
Timing is important. As you read all the experiences listed in these verses, it’s clear to see they are bound to a certain time. The secret to having peace with God is to discover, accept, and appreciate God’s perfect timing. There is a danger in doubting or resenting God’s timing, which can lead to despair, rebellion, or moving ahead without His guidance. We will never be satisfied with earthly pleasures, experiences, and pursuits if we do not understand that God planted eternity in the human heart. These seasons are not to make life miserable or difficult; they are there to guide us to grow closer to Him.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the seasons of our life. Thank You, Jesus, for pruning us and allowing us to grow through seasons we understand and sometimes don’t. With eternity planted in my heart, I praise You in this season that I am in and thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace in it. Amen.
