Designer Idols – Day 15

Who do you worship?
“But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood – idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk! And they did not repent of their murders or their witchcraft or their sexual immorality or their thefts.” Revelation 9:20-21
Our journey through these devotionals taught us the history of certain idols, and their influence over our modern-day society so we can guard our hearts. One would have thought idol worship to have disappeared along with their statues. It is easy to believe the lie: if we do not physically see the idols, they do not exist!
But we see in Revelation, John clearly spells out the continuation of demon and idol worship in the last days. It is not something we, as children of God, can ignore. In all the time past from the first day of creation up until this very second, you are reading this – God has never changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! This means: His commandments have not changed either. Why do we act as it did? We brush it aside as Old Testimonial to justify the objects of worship we have in our hearts. Did Jesus not say: “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.” Matthew 22:37-38
