Preparing the soil – Day 13

Not all is yours

“You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.” John 4:37‭-‬38 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

In my years in ministry I’ve noticed a very distinct pattern with pastors. They don’t like to invite guest speakers or open the door wide with welcome when they learn you are in ministry too. I often wondered and prayed about this till God showed me that they are fiercely protecting their own fields, (their congregation) so the people won’t follow to another church. I was a bit shocked by this revelation and naturally had to test it to sadly find it’s true.

We (Women of the Word) are seed sowers. We sow the little kernels and pray it lands on fertile soil. But we are not the harvesters of these crops and we will never know the size of the harvest for heaven either. We will sow and sow because God gives the seed and we are grateful for being the part of the Body that can do this task.

Prayer: Father, in Your bug Garden of life, thank You for choosing us to be sowers of Your seed. Bless the harvesters Lord and thank You for the joyful reassurance that we can all work together towards one goal – the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen
