Day 19 – Save me, Lord

“Save me, Lord!” he shouted.” Matthew 14:30b NTL

Peter shouted, “Save me, Lord!” which is one of the most powerful lessons we can learn from this account. In his need, sinking in the storm, these words were like a prayer and proof of what the Word says in Romans 10:13, “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Sometimes we come to God in prayer with our own itinerary, a list of demands or how we think the storm should be handled. Lovely one, when was the last time you just prayed, “Save me, Lord!”

Prayer: Father, thank You for teaching us once again the power of Your Name, and that when we call on You, You will save us. This is not a “maybe”, but a powerful promise. Forgive us the times we thought we could demand. I know today I need You Lord to please save me! Amen.
