Day 20 – Second immediately

“Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him.” Matthew 14:31a

Within this account, there is a second immediately. After Peter called out to Jesus, He immediately reached for the apostle, saving him from certain drowning.

Sometimes it takes a near drowning to kick your faith into action. We fail to see the immediate consequences of Jesus reaching into our storm to save us because it might look very different from what we could imagine. But, and this is not my promise – but God’s, Jesus will come to your rescue just as He did for Peter.

Prayer: Father, we are used to imagining a superhero zooming in from somewhere and physically picking us out of danger. Thank You, Jesus, for being my superhero and I know, the moment I call on Your Name, You immediately reach out to save me. Amen.
