Breath – Day 6

Prospering breath

Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to the winds son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again.” Ezekiel 37:9 NLT

Have you ever tried talking when you are out of breath? I have. It is close to impossible to understand what I am trying to huff out after a jogging session. Yes, we need breath to speak. Just as we see in Ezekiel. God used His breath to speak creation into existence. When He tells us to prophesy, we use breath to speak His Word. Prophesy is God’s breath – His Word as it is heard from Him. All Scripture is God breathed! Meaning the Bible is not just a book of words; it is His breath. And that breath, my sweet friend, has power!

When I was little, I loved playing in the wind. Dancing and imagining it picks me up and I could soar high in the sky. God’s breath is everywhere – it is even in the wind ready to breathe into the dead situations of your life lifting you to soar.

I know for one, my go-to is my Bible when I face difficulty. Reading His Word is a reminder that God’s power has already been released in my situation to do what His Word says because He already breathed it. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

God’s Word does not only go out to accomplish what He sent it for, but it shall prosper! His breath prospers us.

Prayer: Father, Your breath is so powerful! It breathes life into the dead areas of our lives. Your breathed Word accomplish and prosper in what You have sent it for. My Father, I ask today that You will remind me that whatever situation I face, You have already breathed the Word for it. Thank You for thinking about me and sending Your breath for me. Amen.
