Day 1 – Battle of the gods

Every day, we face challenges in life. As a Christian, your attitude plays a crucial role in determining the outcome. You can either choose to overlook spiritual battles or learn from them.
By familiarizing yourself with spiritual warfare, you can identify the enemy and their intentions. This knowledge will help you strategize and plan accordingly. Trusting in God will ensure your victory.
I want to share a little about the battle in Egypt – with their gods and Pharaoh himself. We all know the history of the Israelites and why they ended up in Egypt and became slaves.
“Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground”. Exodus 3:5
Imagine yourself in Moses’ shoes. You are walking by a bush that is on fire, but not burning up. Suddenly, a voice commands you to remove your shoes as you are standing on sacred ground. It must have been a startling and scary experience for Moses. However, God identified Himself to Moses as the Father of Abraham.
“Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” Exodus 3:10
For me, this is a war declaration God made to save His people. God knows that Pharaoh will fight to keep his slaves. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt thinks of himself as God’s equal and will not bow his knee to God.
I think of the Egyptians as naturalists who worshipped deities symbolizing different elements of the earth and heavens, as well as animals and human emotions. They believed that these deities had power over air (wind and sky), earth, rain and water, and life and death and that all of them were under the god Pharaoh, who was the offspring of Ra. The Egyptians had to satisfy the needs of the gods to receive their blessings and ensure their well-being. The Israelites were forced to worship the same gods and were enslaved for 400 years, which caused them to forget their roots. Let’s discuss the 10 plagues of Egypt.
Prayer: Lord our God take any doubt from my heart and mind. You are the only God I want to worship and pray to through your Son, Jesus. I love You for giving me a choice to serve You. Make my heart humble so others can see Your love through me, Amen.
