Day 10 – Spiritual Blessings – Accepted

“to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:6 NKJV

First, God blesses us with the knowledge that He chooses us, then adopts us to be His children, and through verse 6 we learn that we are blessed through acceptance. The word relates to grace and gives the idea of making us favorable through Jesus Christ, the Beloved Son of God.

I know what it feels like to always be the odd one out. Trying to belong anywhere but not fitting in everywhere. You start losing parts of yourself, your personality, and your identity to “fit in” and not feel rejected and lonely in a world full of friends and followers. I would (at one point in my life) not talk to people I’ve met out of fear that they might find me unacceptable too. Too weird. Too much of a Jesus freak. Too deep a thinker. And the list goes on, I assure you. But over the years, God guided me to this place, this verse. I am accepted by Him. Does anything else really matter?

Paul specifically used the word Beloved as a beautiful attribute describing Jesus because when God the Father looks at us through Jesus, He sees loveliness. The precious blood of Jesus has cleansed us from sin, and we are perfectly accepted because of it.

Prayer: Father, thank You for blessing us with acceptance in Your Beloved, Jesus Christ. Not only are we accepted as Your children but are beloved. Thank You Jesus that we can walk in this blessing because of Your precious blood that took away our sins. You are such an amazing God, and we love you. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
