Day 11 – Spiritual Blessings – Redemption

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” Ephesians 1:7

The blessing of redemption lies in the act of being saved from sin or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment or the clearing of debt. Through the blood of Jesus, our redemption blessing speaks of our freedom paid through the ransom payment required for sin.

The full and final payment – the price of our sins – bought us free from eternal condemnation clearing our debt and allowing us to stand sinless and guiltless before God our Father. We are no longer slaves to sin, but rather bondservants of Jesus who willingly choose to glorify God with our bodies and spirit.

So, if we are freed by the blessing of redemption, why do we choose to shackle ourselves with the guilt of our sin when the enemy starts accusations against us? The price Jesus paid was great and the receipt of redemption should be a constant reminder.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the redemption Jesus secured when He willingly paid the price with His blood for us. Teach us to understand the freedom we received through His blood and the blessing of redemption instead of being held captive by the guilt of our sins. Thank You, Jesus, for the price You paid for me and that You willingly did this as a blessing for me to be counted as a chosen, adopted, accepted, and redeemed child of God. Amen.
