Day 106 – True greatness is shown in sacrifice
Study Luke 9:57-58
“And Jesus said to him, ‘Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.’” Luke 9:58
As they travelled along the road, a man boldly volunteered, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.” But Jesus tested the depth of his commitment by exposing the cost: “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
Jesus had no earthly property, luxury, or permanent security to offer. True greatness in following Christ is not measured by material comfort or ease, but by sacrificial surrender. Walking with Jesus means being willing to let go of earthly attachments and security to find our true home in Him alone. Does this mean you are not allowed to have anything as a Christian? Not at all. It simply means that what you have should not be more important than your relationship with God, and it should never be the reason for you not to be obedient when the Lord sends you somewhere.
Pray with me: Lord Jesus, I want to follow You wherever You lead, even when the road is hard. Detach my heart from earthly comfort and anchor my security in You alone. Amen. ©
Love, Iriza
