Day 15 – That I may know Him
Philippians 3:10 “That I may know Him and that I may in some way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection, and that I may share in His sufferings as to be continually transformed …”
Isaiah asks the questions: who is like our God; to whom shall we liken our God? If we are to have faith in Him, and believe His Word, and trust in His nature and goodness, surely we ought to know Him.
He is the One who created the universe with galaxies, stars, planets, and the heavens above our planet. He is the Designer of science and maths and art, the One who measured the waters of the earth in the hollow of His hand. He “marked off the heavens, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance” (Isaiah 40:12).
He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, foreordained to be adopted as His own children through Jesus Christ. He is the One who feeds His flock like a shepherd, who gathers lambs in His arm; the One who brings us into the wilderness so that He may speak tenderly to our hearts – for the sake of our eternal salvation.
Dear friend, let’s draw closer to our Heavenly Father, and ask Him to speak tenderly to our hearts so that we may know Him.
Prayer: King of kings, You are the Holy One of Israel. You never change who You are. Thank you that You made it possible through Your Son for me to come into Your presence and get to know You. I want to know You, Lord. Eternal Spirit of God, speak to me, show me Your truth, reveal Christ to me so that I may know You intimately. Amen.
