Day 16 – Surrendering to God and your husband’s leadership

How difficult is it to accept your husband’s decisions? As an independent woman, I struggled deeply with surrendering to my husband’s authority. I rebelled profusely, thinking that my independence meant I didn’t need to submit. However, as I grew in my walk with the Lord, the Holy Spirit began to convict me. One day, I sensed Him saying that I had not surrendered fully to God, and that’s why I found it hard to surrender to my husband’s authority.
To be honest, surrendering is a process, one of trusting the Lord in every aspect of our lives. It is a journey that strengthens our faith, as we learn to believe that God will answer our prayers and guide us. As wives, we must also pray for our husbands to hear God’s voice clearly, so they can lead with wisdom and so we can feel comfortable trusting in their decisions. We, as helpers, have the privilege and responsibility to intercede for our husbands, guiding them toward making godly decisions.
Prayer: Father, help me to surrender my need for control and trust You fully. Teach me to respect my husband’s leadership and to pray faithfully for him to hear Your voice clearly. Amen. ©
