Day 17 – Undeserved Blessings

“But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 AMP
Underserved blessings can only be described in one word: Grace. Through the cruel act of crucifixion, Jesus – the Son of God – was gracefully broken for us to free us from the bondage of sin. Undeserved blessings are poured out on us in a world that might otherwise think we are cursed -brokenhearted, too humble, the ones who long for the goodness of God, the ones who look out for others.
The beauty of this blessing is to know that while we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. Before we were born, He made this choice. When creation was spoken into existence, the undeserved blessing of Grace was already predestined for us. Is there anything we can do – work or words – deserving of this blessing? Not at all! Looking at my BC years (before Christ), and even now, I don’t deserve this blessing. But Jesus gave it anyway – undeservedly and gracefully broken.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the undeserved blessing of Grace we received through Jesus. Thank You Jesus for already blessing us with amazing grace when there is nothing, we can do to deserve it. Thank You, Lord, that we are blessed regardless of our sinful lives and that Jesus has gracefully broken the bondage of sin and the deserved punishment we should’ve received. Amen.
