Day 45 – Withdrawn for prayer

“So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.” Luke 5:16

In this season of growing popularity and publicity, Jesus made a special point of withdrawing into the wilderness for prayer. We often see withdrawing as isolation. In our modern, social culture, we constantly seek the approval of those around us. Parents, spouses, family, friends, and even strangers. How often do we withdraw ourselves for prayer? Earnest prayer. Precious time spent with God.

The demands of life pushed Jesus 𝘵𝘰 prayer, not 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 it. He demonstrated that prayer is not a last resort, but a way of life. It is the constant in our spiritual lives keeping us grounded in Him. The only foundation for our faith to stand on, and most importantly, our communication with God.

Pray with me: Father, help me to develop a healthy prayer discipline and to regularly withdraw to spend time with You in prayer. Teach me the value of withdrawing and to close my ears to the world’s opinions. Thank You, Jesus, for giving me the example and to know that it is good to do so. Amen. ©

Love, Iriza
